We have received a message from Vivien Syms to let us know that Trevor suffered a stroke last Sunday and was admitted to North Middlesex Hospital. Trevor’s left side has been affected but he is able to talk. He was later transferred to University College Hospital where he remains at present. Vivien and their daughters are visiting but Trevor has also contracted an MRSA infection and is in an isolation room. Vivien is happy to be contacted by well wishers on her mobile phone on 07905 060599. John Cooke had his hip replacement operation in April but recently has contracted an infection and had to be readmitted to hospital. John is due to have further surgery this afternoon, the first of a two part procedure to sanitise the wound and reinstall the replacement hip. John is expected to remain in hospital for a couple of weeks and will be unable to drive for at least six weeks after that. Our best wishes for full recoveries have been sent to both Trevor and John. This messages was written by John Monk, Referee Administrator for the AFA, and we thank him for sharing it with us.
